ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan women's tennis team tried to avoid losing two straight matches for the first time this season, but were unable to do so as they lost to Le Moyne on Thursday evening, 6-3.
 
Juniors 
Nthabi Mogopodi and 
Andrea Gallardo were double winners for the Redhawks. Mogopodi defeated Rithika Vajjiravelu in No. 1 singles in a three set match, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2. Gallardo defeated 
Tiffany Hamdan in straight sets, 6-3, 6-0. The junior duo teamed up to get the victory at No. 1 doubles by defeating Vajjiravelu and Amica Benoit-Limosani, 8-3.
 
Freshman 
Laura Freeman lost in a tiebreaker to Marta Nunez at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 4-6, 7-10.
 
Roberts (5-3, 2-2 ECC) currently sits in fifth place in the East Coast Conference standings behind District of Columbia who defeated the Redhawks last week 5-4. The top four teams advance to the ECC Championships. Next up for Roberts is an away match against Houghton College on October 10
th at 5 p.m.
