The Roberts Women's Soccer program has announced the addition of several talented student-athletes to join the Redhawks for the 2017 season.  
 
Joining the Redhawks this fall will be Selena Beller, Dejah Cooper, Melanie Critzer, Ava Harrington, Madison LaMarche, Genevieve Palmer, Allison Parsels, Emily Romig, Lily Shultz, and Malissa Temple.
 
"This is a very deep and talent-filled class," head coach Sarah McClellan said. "Our staff is excited to work with them at the college level. Each of these players brings great work ethic and a commitment to both academics and athletics, making them ideal candidates for our program.  Speed, athleticism, versatility, and competitiveness all come to mind when describing these players. Just as important, they will mesh really well with our returning group."

Selena Beller (M): A center midfielder from Castorland, NY and Lowville High School… Varsity soccer starter and captain… Three-time Frontier League All-Star… Twice recognized a Class B Section III All-Star… Named to Watertown Daily All-North First Team in 2015… Also lettered in track… Played premier travel soccer for Syracuse Soccer Academy… Led team to the New York West State Cup Final Four in 2014 and 2015… Olympic Development Program member… Helped ODP team to a Region I Championship in 2012… Member of Athletic Leadership Group… Sources of Strength supporter… Member of Friends of Rachel… Participated in Select Chorus… Plans to major in Special Education at Roberts… Daughter of Myron and Krystal Beller.
 

Dejah Cooper (D/F): A versatile, attacking player from Scarborough, Ontario and Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute… Splits playing time as a forward and wingback … Member of Birchmount Exceptional Athlete Program… Named 2016 Birchmount Park Collegiate Institute Female Athlete of the Year… Also competed in volleyball, track and tield, and basketball… Played premier club soccer for Master's Futbol Academy and coach Junior Groves… Member of the Photography Club… Member of the Yearbook Committee… Leader in Student Council… Recipient of school's English Award… Enrolled in Exercise Science Degree Program at Roberts… Daughter of Keisha Wright and Tim Cooper. 
 

Melanie Critzer (D): A strong defender from Streetsboro, Ohio and Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy… Varsity Soccer Standout playing for coaches Mario Houston and Dave Paterson… Team Captain… Led team to 2014 OHSAA Region 5 District Championship and several finalist placings… Senior year Regional Semifinalists … Played premier club soccer for Ambassadors Football Club… Served as Team Captain… Led team to multiple event championships… Also competed for Ohio North State ODP Team and participated in Region II ODP showcase… Academic All-Ohio 2016… Earned Honor Roll High Honors standing every semester… Member of the National Honor Society…. Ava Harrington (D): A defender from Rochester, NY and West Irondequoit High School… Varsity Soccer star player… Recipient of numerous accolades for her play… Named Team MVP as both a junior and senior… Twice honored to First Team All-County (2015 and 2016)… All Greater Rochester Honorable Mention as a senior… Selected to All-State Team in 2016… Also played golf… Played competitive club soccer for Doug Miller Soccer and Rochester Futbol Club… Member of the National Honor Society… High Honor Roll Scholar Athlete… Plans to major in Biology/Pre PA … Daughter of John and Laura Harrington.  
 
 

Madison LaMarche (GK): Goalkeeper from Cohoes, NY and Shaker High School…  Varsity Starter… Recipient of Heart of the Bison Award… Section 2 Suburban Council Honorable Mention pick in 2015… Named to Section 2 Suburban Council Second Team as a senior… Chosen for the Section 2 Class AA Senior All Star Game… Awarded MVP for Section 2 Class AA All Star Game… Also played high school lacrosse, softball , and bowling … Played premier club soccer for FC Dutchmen and Albany Alleycats… Also a three year member of NY State ODP program… Served as President of the Ceramics Club… Vice President English Council… Writing Center consultant with a writing piece published in Visions Magazine… Recipient of Student Government Leadership Certificate… 5 year volunteer for the American Heart Association… Top Soccer Program mentor… Interned at University at Albany Homeland Security School … Enrolled in Homeland Security Program at Roberts… Daughter of Mark and Tina LaMarche.
 

 
Genevieve Palmer (M): A central midfielder from Greenville, NY and Greenville High School… Varsity standout for the Lady Spartans… Team Captain sophomore, junior, and senior years… 2014 Patroon Conference All Star First Team selection… Led team to 2015 Conference Championship… Named 2015 Section 2 Patroon Conference All-Star First Team… Selected to Conference All-Star First Team again in 2016… Named 2016 All-Conference Most Valuable Player… Also excelled in varsity basketball, track, tennis, and softball… Longtime member of premier travel soccer club Capital United playing under coach Liz Villamil… Scholar-Athlete recognition… Principal High Honor Roll throughout high school career… Top 10 in graduating class… National Honors Society member… Participant in Interact Club… Member of SADD…  Plans to major in Biology/Pre-Med at Roberts… Daughter of Alan and Maria Palmer. 


Allison Parsels (M/F): A midfielder from Rochester, NY and Gates Chili High School… Varsity soccer star… 4 year varsity starter… Served as team captain junior and senior year… Recipient of Coaches Award… Named All-County Honorable Mention in 2015… All-County First Team Selection senior year… Chosen for Exceptional Senior game… Led team in goals as a senior… All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention pick in 2016… Played premier travel soccer for Empire United alongside incoming player Emily Romig… Longtime member  and captain of Gates Metros Travel team… Earned High Honor Roll every semester of high school career… Member of the Service Club… Awarded Varsity Academic Letter distinction for academic excellence… National Honor Society member… Volunteer at Highland Hospital… Volunteer at Strong Memorial Hospital… Recipient of Chevron Award  for scholar-athlete accomplishments… Enrolled in the Nursing Program at Roberts… Daughter of Alan and Trisia Parsels. 

  
Emily Romig (F): A quick forward from Hilton, NY and Northstar Christian Academy… Varsity soccer star player… 5 year varsity starting forward… Team Captain junior and senior years… 4 time selection to All-Greater Rochester Honorable Mention honors… 4 time All Private Parochial First Team… Holds multiple Northstar Christian Academy all-time records in soccer including most points with 126, most goals scored at 52 and most assists garnering 26 in her career… Racked up 9 game-winning goals in senior season alone leading team to a 13-5 record… Section 5 All Star Team representative in 2016 (Spain) and in 2017 (Italy)… Played premier travel soccer for Empire United along with future college teammate Allison Parsels… Member of Olympic Development Team…  Member of American Christian Honor Society… Graduating in Top 10 in class… Plans to major in Communications and Photography at Roberts… Daughter of Gary and Kathryn Romig. 


Lily Schultz (F/M): A strong forward and midfielder from Rochester, NY and Greece Arcadia High School… Varsity Soccer standout… Two-time All-County Team Selection… Also competed in Track and Field… Participated in Cheer…  Played travel club soccer for Doug Miller Soccer Academy… Longtime member of travel team Greece United Futol Club playing for Pete LaRosa… Sister is a current nursing major at Roberts…Plans to major in Biochemistry at Roberts… Daughter of Denise Schultz. 
 
 
Malissa Temple (F): A forward from Waterloo, NY and Waterloo High School… Excelled on varsity soccer team… Named First Team All-League… Also recognized on the Exceptional Senior Team… Played travel premier soccer for Doug Miller Soccer Club and coach Roger Groome… High Honor Roll Student… Member of the National Honor Society… Active in Varsity Club and Captain's Club… Graduating in Top 10 of class… Enrolled in Nursing Program at Roberts… Daughter of Mark and Eileen Temple.
 
 
The Redhawks have set their sights on the 2017 season with much excitement and enthusiasm. "Our returners made great strides and gained quality experience last season," McClellan said. "The summer leading into preseason is important for everyone to sharpen technically and prepare physically for the level we expect to perform at as a team. We have so much potential in this 2017 team, it will certainly be exciting to get everyone back together in August and assess our collective capabilities."
