HOUGHTON, N.Y. – For the first time since mid-December, the Roberts Wesleyan track and field team was back in action at the Houghton Highlander Invitational. No team scores were kept, but the Redhawks turned in several impressive individual performances.
Bailey Gostomski won the women's 3,000m race with a time of 10:26.92. and also helped the Redhawks' 4x400m relay team secure a second place finish in a time of 4:28.62. Joining Gostomski was
Abigail Gostomski,
Kyilee Quayle, and
Jennifer Reagan.
Hailee Lowe found success both on the track and in field events. The Alexander, N.Y. native won the long jump with a distance of 4.95 meters (16 feet 3 inches) and took second in the 60m hurdles (9.62).
Abigail Gostomski was second in the mile, crossing the line in 5:17.95.
Junior
Ryan Karker finished second in the mile on the men's side posting a time of 4:25.26.
In the men's 3,000m race Roberts placed six runners in the top 12 positions.
Shane Pease led the way (8:51.89).
Roberts will be back on the track again on Friday, Jan. 28 at a meet hosted by RIT. The meet is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
