ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Four members of the Roberts Wesleyan University women's soccer team have been recognized by the East Coast Conference for their play this season.
Forward Ella White, who tied for the ECC lead in goals with 11 during the regular season, was a first-team selection at forward. White, a native of Clifton Park, N.Y., also notched seven-game winning goals and is tied for third in NCAA Division II for most goals by a freshman this season.
Midfielders Gabrielle Ciambella and Larissa Johnston and defender Cassidy Pearce received second-team honors for the Redhawks.
Ciambella, a junior from East Amherst, N.Y., is a repeat second-team selection. She scored four goals, including two game-winners,and recorded a team-high five assists.
Johnston, a freshman from Greece, N.Y., scored three goals and often gave the Redhawks with a spark.
Pearce, a freshman from Henrietta, N.Y., registered two assists while providing a steady presence on the back line.
Roberts went 5-2-1 in conference play and advanced to the semifinals of the ECC Championship as the No. 3 seed. Roberts (11-4-1) is ranked fourth in the most recent National Christian College Athletic Association Division I poll and is awaiting word on a possible berth in the upcoming NCCAA Championship Tournament.
