LEWISBURG, Pa. – Several members of the Roberts Wesleyan track and field teams look forward to attending the Bison Outdoor Classic meet each year hosted by Bucknell University. Each season the meet brings the opportunity to run fast times against top competition as the Redhawks approach conference championship time.
Seniors
Bailey Gostomski and
Lee Sortore walked away with highlight performances for the Redhawks, including personal bests and placing themselves atop the East Region rankings.
Gostomski ran an all-time best in the 1,500m seeded race with a time of 4:37.76. The time keeps her as fourth all-time in Roberts history.
Sortore just barely missed out on a top five performance in Roberts history in the 3,000m steeplechase. Sortore crossed the finish line in 9:32.58 to earn a personal best. His time ranks him first in the East Region by over 10 seconds.
In the women's 800m race,
Kylee Odell and
Acacia Barber both ran personal bests. Odell finished in 2:20.16 and Barber finished in 2:26.77.
The men ran strong in the 1,500m race.
Ryan Karker and
Teddy Pintabona each posted career best times, while
James Betts put together a good race and is currently ranked sixth in the East Region. Karker crossed the line in 3:57.65, Pintabona finished in 4:04.42, and Betts ran a 3:55.81. Betts and Karker are ranked first and second in the East Coast Conference.
