ROCHESTER, NY – Four members of the Roberts Wesleyan University Triathlon team have earned a spot in the National Championship event November 9 in Clermont, Florida.
Junior Joane Arzalluz Garzon, sophomore Jadyn Mullen and freshmen Paige Kern and Jenna Maendel all earned a spot in the championship event. The race is divided into three heats of 75 racers each with the top 225 competitors from across the country in the race.
The race is scheduled for a 750-meter swim, a 20K bike course and a 5K run.
The first heat is scheduled for 10 a.m., the second at 12 p.m. and the third starting at 2 p.m.
The athletes qualified based on their results from the NCAA East Regional event when the Redhawks placed fifth as team at Wake Forest, North Carolina. Each of the Redhawks placed in the top-40.
