Women's Bowling Welcomes Four Newcomers For 2025-26 Season

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's bowling team welcomes four new members for the 2025-26 season.

The incoming class includes three bowlers from Section V high schools and one from New Jersey.

Roberts competes in the East Coast Conference and opened its season at the Mercyhurst Invitational on Saturday.

Let's meet the newest Redhawks:

Michelle Cummings


Year:
Freshman
Hometown: Farmington, N.Y.
High school: Victor
Major: Adolescence Education/Biology
Before Roberts: Improved average by 80 pins during her four-year high school career. Led Victor in average, strikes and spares while recording the highest game and series on the team as Blue Devils placed third in Section V her senior season. Comes from a family of bowlers and participated in several leagues and tournaments while growing up.
Why I chose Roberts: "I chose Roberts Wesleyan because it was close to home, the campus was beautiful, and I was inspired by a Roberts graduate to attend here."

Amanda Durkee


Year: Freshman
Hometown: Clifton Springs, N.Y.
High school: Midlakes
Major: Nursing
Before Roberts: Was a member of softball, swimming and bowling teams at Midlakes. Won a Section V Class C team championship and participated in states as a senior.
Why I chose Roberts: "I chose Roberts because it is a Christian college and God has a big impact in my life." 

Briana Hershey

Year: Freshman
Hometown: Middlesex, N.Y.
High school: Marcus Whitman
Major: Childhood Special Education – Language Arts
Before Roberts: Earned a spot on the Section V Class D All-Tournament Team while helping Marcus Whitman to a second-place finish as a team as a senior. Member of the Wildcats' Section V title team as a sophomore. Participated in softball and lacrosse and was a team manager for girls soccer. Served as a buddy for Marcus Whitman's Unified bowling team and was a member of Entrepreneurship Club and Future Educators Association.
Why I chose Roberts: "I chose Roberts Wesleyan University to continue my athletic and academic journey because I wanted to bowl in college and they had a good education program." 

Jade Stavalo

Freshman
Hometown: Manchester, N.J.
High school: Manchester Township
Major: Visual Art Education
Before Roberts: Served as captain of her high school team as a senior. Rolled a high game of 216. Was also starting goalkeeper for field hockey team and ranks second in school history for career shutouts. Participated in Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement and Art Club.
Why I chose Roberts: "I chose Roberts because it is a smaller school that offered my major and the opportunity to bowl as well."
