Three Men’s Volleyball Players Earn Academic Honors

GREENWOOD, IN – Griffin Monrad, Paul Fillion and Kaidan Krchniak from the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball team have each been selected by the College Sports Communicators (CSC) national organization as Academic All-District honorees and are now eligible for Academic All-America consideration.

The requirements for Academic All-District honors are at least a sophomore academically and maintain at least a 3.5 grade point average as well as have considerable contribution to the team success for the most recent season. The organization honors several thousand student-athletes each year from each NCAA Division and the NAIA as honorees are nominated by the members of the organization previously known as CoSIDA.

Monrad was the Elite 90 award winner for men's volleyball from the East Coast Conference (ECC) and was a National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-Academic selection as well.

Fillion was a co-captain and a key contributor to the team that advanced to the championship match of the ECC Tournament and the championship match of the NCCAA National Tournament. He was named a Roberts Wesleyan Scholar-Athlete of the Month and earned NCCAA All-American honors.

Krchniak was among the team leaders in several statistical categories with 22 aces, 73 kills and 79 digs for the season.
