COLONIA, NJ – Sophomore Diego Arellano Jasso recorded a personal best score in the Decathlon for the Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Track and Field team and earned the East Coast Conference (ECC) Field Athlete of the Week Award. He was joined by graduate student Jackson Doran who earned weekly honors with a spot on the ECC Weekly Honor Roll.
Arellano Jasso returned from injury to post a career-best points total in the Decathlon at the Brockport Multi and Invitational Sunday and Monday. He finished with 5700 points. His score ranks No. 1 in the East Region.
Doran broke his own school record in the 1500-meter run at the Bison Outdoor Classic hosted by Bucknell University over the weekend. He clocked a new record time of 3:44.09 as he placed seventh overall. The old record was set last year by Doran at the Last Chance meet in May in Ohio with a time of 3:45.49 which broke an 18-year old record at Roberts.
The Track and Field teams will compete at the University of Rochester Alumni Invitational this weekend.
