COLONIA, NJ – The Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Volleyball team has had a record-breaking season and was awarded this week with four All-Conference selections as well as the Coach of the Year award.
Head Coach Mike Dedee was voted the top coach in the East Coast Conference (ECC) as he led the Redhawks to an 18-10 overall regular-season record and a 5-1 conference mark to earn the regular-season title and the right to host the conference tournament.
Joining Dedee with conference awards were senior Moises Jimenez (Defensive Player of the Year), sophomore Landon Brouwer (Setter of the Year), freshman Jordan Hoover (Rookie of the Year) and sophomore Ryan DeJohn (All-Conference selection).
Jimenez was the top defender in the conference with more than 200 digs and 2.4 digs per set. Brouwer was the top setter with nearly 900 assists and a team-leading 22 service aces. Hoover was listed among the conference leaders in several offensive categories and led the league with more than 100 blocks on the season.
DeJohn joined the trio with All-ECC honors as he led the team with more than 300 kills including a season-high 25 kills in the win over St. Thomas Aquinas College in the final match of the season to clinch the regular-season title.
