COLONIA, NJ – Sophomore Madelyn Rutledge recorded a personal best effort in the Long Jump over the weekend at the Bill Q Invitational at RIT and has been recognized by the East Coast Conference (ECC) at the Field Athlete of the Week. Rutledge was joined by freshman Michaela Goettel with weekly honors as she was named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll.
Rutledge hit a personal best and the top Roberts effort of the season in the long jump as she placed fourth (out of 16 jumpers) with a leap of 5.45 meters (17' 10 ¾") at the Bill Q Invitational at RIT. The mark ranks fifth in the ECC and seventh in the East Region.
Goettel continued to improve her marks this past weekend with another PR in the 800 meter race. She finished first overall (out of 24 runners) at the Bill Q Invitational at RIT with a time of 2:17.87. The time is fifth in the ECC standings and eighth in the East Region.
The Redhawks compete Thursday as Roberts hosts the ECC Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Roberts Stadium.
