COLONIA, NJ – The Roberts Wesleyan University Men's Soccer team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament a year ago after winning the East Coast Conference Tournament has been picked to place second by the head coaches in the ECC in the annual ECC Preseason Poll.
Regular season champion Queens College was picked to win the conference title with 80 points and eight first-place votes. The Redhawks garnered 71 points and one first-place vote for second place in the standings.
Mercy University (56 point) and St. Thomas Aquinas College (54) were picked third and fourth in the poll while the University of the District of Columbia (44), Molloy University (39), D'Youville University (30), College of Staten Island (20) and Daemen University (11) rounded out the poll.
The Redhawks return a solid defense with First Team All-ECC selection Takumi Horan leading the group. High-scoring forward Archie Murphy (15 goals, 4 assists, 34 points) also returns after earning National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-American honors in 2025.
The Redhawks finished 10-3-7 overall with an undefeated 5-0-5 record at home.
The 2026 season begins August 29 at Assumption University with each of the first four matches on the road. The home opener for Roberts is a 2 p.m. match Saturday September 12 against Goldey-Beacom College.
