Women's Cross Country Welcomes Two Additions For 2026

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Roberts Wesleyan University women's cross country team has added two first-year scholar-athletes for the 2026 season.

Giuliana Fodor and Juliana LaFountain join a Redhawks program that has won 11 consecutive East Coast Conference championships.

The Redhawks open their season on Sept. 5 at the Tom Balon Alumni Classic at SUNY Brockport.

Let's meet the newest members of the Redhawks:

Giuliana Fodor

2026 Women's XC Headshots
Year:
Freshman
Hometown: Eden, N.Y.
High School: Eden
Major: Education
Before Roberts: Honor Roll student competed in cross country, track and varsity softball at Eden … Named first-team ECIC Division V and honorable mention All-Western New York in cross country as a senior … Selected second-team ECIC Division V as a junior … Received the Kay Palmer Award, which is given to a senior girl athlete who shows resilience and loyalty towards their sport no matter the circumstances … Worked at her family's pizzeria … Served as a leader of Fellowship Club … Member of Environmental Club.
I chose Roberts because: "the community is very welcoming and everyone there just seems like the best people to be around and the administrators and professors seem to be open and willing to talk to you and have one-on-one conversations. The athletic program at Roberts seems to be very competitive, which I really like, but it also holds up the values and morals of a Christian community and putting God first which I very much appreciate and was looking for when I was looking into a school."

Juliana LaFountain

2026 Women's XC Headshots
Year:
Freshman
Hometown: Albany, N.Y.
High School: Colonie
Major: Exercise Science
Before Roberts: Competed in cross country and indoor and outdoor track and field at Colonie High School … Received the Clear Award given to senior athletes at Colonie High School who consistently demonstrate leadership and are known for helping the coaches and being a role model to younger athletes. This award only goes to seniors and is only given once each sports season. The award is given once per season and LaFountain received it three times from three different coaches for cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field.
I chose Roberts because: "of the faith aspect of the school and the family-like feel that the cross country and track team has. When I first visited for my recruit visit, it automatically felt like home and somewhere that I could see myself being and I knew that was really important being away from home."
