Women's Results BROCKPORT, N.Y. (Dec. 6, 2014) - As the cross country team was running well at the NCAA Division II National Championships  in Louisville, Ky.,  the Track & Field team was breaking records at Brockport's Early Bird Invitational.Â
The team broke four program records, two by the men and two by the women. The first to fall was the men's 4x200 Relay. The team of
David Donovan,
Aaron McGinnis,
Gabe Rivera and
Jared Gonzalez ran a 1:32.33 to win the race and break the old record of 1:34.50 set in 2000.Â
Chelsea Hayward, competing in the 60m Dash, tied the school record (8.01 set in 2012) in the prelims then broke it in the finals. She ran 8.00 seconds to place second in the final.Â
In the women's 300m,
Danielle Budd ran a 43.69 to set a new record, breaking the old record of 43.65 (2013). The record did not last long as
Chelsea Hayward ran in the next heat winning in 41.69.Â
The last record to fall was the men's long jump.Â
Aaron McGinnis took first place with a school record 7.03m (23' 3/4") breaking the record of 6.89 set in 2006 and hits the NCAA Division II provisional mark.Â
Other notable performances were made by
Gabe Rivera in the high jump (1st place, 1.98m, 6' 6"), Kelsey Semmler (2nd, pole vault, 3.20m, 10'6"),
Victoria Houser (2nd, weight throw, 14.93m, 48' 11 3/4") and the women's 4x200 Relay (2nd place, 1:52.39,
Danielle Budd, Maddie Gosch,
Heidi Riegel and
Chelsea Hayward.Â
Houser's performance in the weight throw places her second all-time in that event.  Four other individuals made the all-time list at the No. 5 spot. They were
Jared Gonzalez (60m, 8.30, 8th place),
Juan Martinez (300, 37.67, 9th place),
Aaron McGinnis (high jump, 1.88m, 6' 2", 7th place) and
Hayden Jurius (weight throw, 13.74m, 45' 1", 6th place).
Overall the women placed 4th out of 11 teams and the men were 5th out of 10. The next meet is Thursday, Dec. 11 at RIT.
