ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 13, 2015) – Senior distance runner
Rachel Hust has made the field in the 1,500m at the upcoming NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Hust qualified for the championships by running the same event with a time of 4:31.52 at the NCCAA National Championships earlier this month. The recent graduate comes into the meet seeded No. 16 out of a total of 20 runners in the event.
By qualifying, Hust becomes the first track & field athlete to compete in an NCAA championship meet. She was also a part of the Women's Cross Country team that finished ninth at the NCAA Division II Championships in Louisville, Ky. this past fall.
Hust is joined by Molloy's Katie Gallagher, a high jumper, as the only representatives from the East Coast Conference.
The meet, which runs May 21-23, will be held on the campus of Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.
The Women's 1,500m event is scheduled for Thursday, May 21 at 5:10 p.m.
