Distance Runner Rachel Hust Qualifies for NCAA Division II Championships

The recent graduate will wrap up her collegeiate career by running in the 1,500m run at the national championship meet

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 13, 2015) – Senior distance runner Rachel Hust has made the field in the 1,500m at the upcoming NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Hust qualified for the championships by running the same event with a time of 4:31.52 at the NCCAA National Championships earlier this month. The recent graduate comes into the meet seeded No. 16 out of a total of 20 runners in the event.

By qualifying, Hust becomes the first track & field athlete to compete in an NCAA championship meet. She was also a part of the Women's Cross Country team that finished ninth at the NCAA Division II Championships in Louisville, Ky. this past fall.

Hust is joined by Molloy's Katie Gallagher, a high jumper, as the only representatives from the East Coast Conference.

The meet, which runs May 21-23, will be held on the campus of Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.

The Women's 1,500m event is scheduled for Thursday, May 21 at 5:10 p.m.

The meet schedule and live results are available here.
