PHILADELPHIA - Roberts Wesleyan men's tennis picked up a hard fought win on the road, defeating Philadelphia, 5-4, Tuesday afternoon.
The Redhawks were led by
Jose Lopez Tapia, who was team's lone double-winner. The freshman edged Vincent Breer at third singles 7-5, 6-0 while also teaming up for an 8-1 win at second doubles with
Jose Maria Carrillo.
At first singles,
Charles Farres downed the Rams' C. Vera Rehberger in a close match 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-2). Farres and
Robert Beer dropped a close first doubles match to Vera Rehberger and Luis Molina Megias, 8-4.
The win improves Roberts Wesleyan to 9-6 overall as they are off until visiting Hobart for a match next Tuesday, March 29.
