ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Three members of the Roberts Wesleyan College men's lacrosse team were voted first-team All-East Coast Conference and two players were named to the second team, the ECC announced on Friday.
Senior
Hunter Lemieux was named first-team at attack, sophomore
Jordon Deats was selected as a midfielder and graduate student
Mitch Streety earned a spot as a face-off specialist. Juniors
Reid Jackowski and
Garet Marsh were each named second team.
Lemieux led the ECC in both goals (61) and points (82) this season while earning all-conference honors for the third time. Lemieux was the ECC Offensive Player of the Year in 2021 and earned second-team recognition in 2019.
A native of Lockport, N.Y., Lemieux set program records for points and assists this season and exits as Roberts' career leader in goals (201) and points (264). He ranks third in NCAA Division II in goals per game (4.07) this season.
Deats, who is from Bath, N.Y., tied for third on the team with 26 goals this season. He scored nine man-up goals and contributed 16 assists for 42 points. Deats also corralled 22 ground balls and caused 11 turnovers.
Streety, a Buffalo native, set school single-season records by winning 237 of 354 faceoffs (.670) and securing 137 groundballs. His face-off winning percentage ranked fifth in the country and his average of 9.13 ground balls per game ranked seventh. He also scored five goals and added four assists. He is also the program's all-time leader in face-off wins (569) and ground balls (322).
Jackowski, who plays attack, set a program record and led the ECC with 37 assists. He also scored 36 goals and finished second in the conference with 37 points.
Marsh, a defenseman, gathered 29 ground balls and tied for the team lead with 18 caused turnovers.
The Redhawks (10-5) set a program record for wins in a season and advanced to the ECC semifinals.
