COLONIA, NJ – Freshman Jordan Hoover and senior Moises Jimenez led a group of five Redhawks that earned East Coast Conference (ECC) Weekly Awards after a 3-0 win on the road at American International College over the Weekend.
Hoover earned the ECC Rookie of the Week for the fifth time this season and Jimenez was named the Defensive Player of the Week for the fourth time this year. Sophomores Landon Brouwer and Ryan DeJohn along with junior Paul Fillion were all named to the ECC Weekly Honor Roll.
Hoover helped Roberts cruise past AIC with a 3-0 win Saturday with dominating play at the net for the Redhawks. He finished with six kills and a .556 attack percentage (6/1/9) and added six blocks on the day. He ranks eighth nationally in attack percentage and leads the ECC in blocks and is second in attack percentage.
Jimenez was dominant on defense as led the team with 17 digs and had just one reception error and a .944 serve-receive percentage. He currently ranks first in the ECC in total digs and digs per set.
DeJohn led Roberts with 14 kills and a .458 attack percentage (14/3/24). He added three blocks and four digs to his all-around stats totals. He leads the ECC with 79 kills and is third with 3.41 kills/set.
Brouwer handed out 32 assists and added a kill and four digs while Fillion recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. He had a .533 attack percentage (10/2/15) and added four blocks.
Roberts will play a non-conference match at D'Youville University Wednesday and returns to ECC play April 11 at home against American International.
