Box Score ROCHESTER, NY – Freshmen Aimee Turner and Sarah Seyfang combined for four touchdowns as the Roberts Wesleyan University Women's Flag Football team won the first-ever game in Roberts history with a 32-19 victory Saturday night over SUNY Geneseo on Redhawks Turf Field.
Turner was 8-for-14 passing for 119 yards and a pair of scores and also scored twice on the ground with 72 yards on nine carries. Seyfang was a favorite target with a team-leading six receptions for 89 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Freshman Kate Rayburn added four receptions for 50 yards and an interception return for a touchdown on the defensive side of the ball. Seyfang added a pair of interceptions and senior Barbora Fronkova was the leading tackler for the Redhawks with 10 flag pulls.
Sophomore Aaliyah McCoy had four quarterback sacks on defense as well for Roberts.
The win is the first in program history as head coach Paul Fricano and the Redhawks started the Flag Football program in the fall and played the first game in program history Saturday night.
Roberts scored the only touchdown in the first quarter on a Turner rush and added two more in the second period as Turner connected with Seyfang and Rayburn returned her interception and the Redhawks led 19-0 at the halftime intermission break. Two more TDs in the third period extended the lead to 32-0 and Geneseo (1-1) scored three times in the final quarter.
The Redhawks will play again at home Sunday, March 22 with games against SUNY Brockport and D'Youville University.
